Three Children's Authors to Visit Sevastopol

The authors are coming, The authors are coming!!!

The Literacy Team has been working on plans to bring literacy to Sevastopol students.


Arriving on the scene first:


Ben Mikaelsen, Author of Touching Spirit Bear.  

On Thursday February 1st, at 8:15 Ben Mikaelsen will speak to our Middle School students.

Kao Kalia Yang, Author of The Latehomecomer  a Hmong Family Memoir.

On Friday, February 9 in the afternoon, Kao Kalia Yang will speak with Sevastopol and Gibraltar High School students. The book is a Minnesota Book Award winner,  finalist for the PEN/John Kenneth Galbraith Award, and an NEA Big Read selection. The The Latehomecomer eBook and eAudiobook are also available for download with Door County Library's "hoopla digital" app. This book is the 2018 Door County Read selection.


Miranda Paul

On  Monday, February 12 Miranda will spend the day at Sevastopol with students in grades 4K-5th. Thank you PTO for sponsoring this wonderful opportunity.  During Library Media time, Mrs. Bowers is reading her books to each class.
